»Postkastell« ist ein Wortspiel: der Postkasten – das Postkastl – das Postkastell – eine Befestigung – eine Burg – eine Verteidigungsanlage. Zur Verteidigung der analogen Post; zur Verbreitung von Kunst.
Auf unseren vier individuellen Wegen durch den Alltag sammeln wir Eindrücke und generieren kreativen Output. Wir beobachten und skizzieren, finden und erfinden, halten fest und lassen gehen.
Das nostalgische Format der Postkarte ist das einheitliche Trägermaterial unserer Arbeiten. Die Postkarten werden zu Take-Away Objekten: die BesucherInnen dürfen sich ein Stück von uns mit nach Hause nehmen und lassen im Gegenzug ein Stück von ihnen vor Ort (egal ob Zahnbürste, Busticket, Kronkorken oder Skizzen…).
So wandelt sich der Inhalt des »Postkastells« langsam in eine Sammelausstellung unterschiedlicher Tauschobjekte. Das »Postkastell« ist keine statische Ausstellung, sondern ein mobiler Ort der Veränderung und des Austausches.

»Postkastell« is a wordplay: a mailbox – a castle – a fortification. To defend the analogue way of mailing, to spread art.
We are four young Austrian women – all beeing creative in our very own way: making collages in our sketch books, taking pictures of so called unimportant details, collecting impressions on our way through everyday life. The nostalgic postcard format is our corporate base to present our creative output.
Visitors can give items they have brought along (bus tickets, crown caps, sketches, …) in exchange for one of our postcards. Thus the visitor will continuously alter the content of the »Postkastell« – turning it into a shifting collection. As you can see the »Postkastell« is not a static exhibition, but a traveling site of process and exchange.
